The Next Wave

Builders, Anons, Degens, and Frens: WE ARE READY! Amarok, the network upgrade of Connext, is finally complete, and it’s ready to be launched in Beta in the coming weeks.

After the Amarok network upgrade, Connext will become a modular stack for interoperability, allowing developers to easily build xchain applications with the most secure infrastructure available on each chain. It accomplishes this by plugging into the best underlying mechanisms for verifying xchain data on each chain, regardless of what ecosystem a user is building in (for example, rollup bridges on Ethereum, IBC on Cosmos, etc.).

Don’t worry if some of this goes over your head. Over the next several weeks, we will publish a series of educational posts covering:

  • How modular interoperability works,
  • The security and feature tradeoffs in interop today, and how modularity can help to overcome them, and
  • The NEXT Wave of applications that Connext will enable.

After Amarok, it becomes possible to have a chain-agnostic world for both developers and users, getting us closer to our vision:

Connext will enable a new wave of innovation around decentralized application development. For the first time, builders can quickly bring their decentralized applications crosschain, allowing end users to interact with their application regardless of what chain they’re on!

We cannot understate how excited we are about the Amarok network upgrade. It’s the culmination of years of research, and we’re confident it will fundamentally change how we think about interoperability.

WhatsNext — Starting Monday, 31 October

WhatsNext is a series of Twitter Spaces where we bring together innovative projects throughout web3 to share their vision and what they are building in the space. We hope to inspire a new wave of ideas for the next generation of builders as new crosschain use cases emerge.

We will dive into topics such as xApp development, security, and liquidity with experts in the space, like Trader Joe, Zerion, Arrakis, Redacted Cartel, Themis, Polygon, Gnosis DAO, Arbitrum, Optimism DAO, NFTHashi, ZkSync and many more.

Launch day

Join us on the launch day for activities, listening to stories from the early blockchain days, the most impactful learnings about building with special guests, and other community-run initiatives.

We’ll live stream the launch, and the core team will answer questions from the community.

You’ll also hear from our launch partners to learn firsthand about their experience building xApps with Connext.

Follow the Connext Intern for more Connext-Pepe memes

The last part of the Next Wave involves you more directly with a lot of learn-by-doing activities.

Try out the first xApps from early projects building on Connext, and earn great rewards:

  • The first trust-minimized crosschain NFTs
  • Connext swag
  • Other prizes 😉

Set up alerts for the upcoming Twitter Spaces and follow @connextnetwork so you don’t miss the upcoming events!

About Connext

Connext is a network for fast, trustless communication between chains and rollups. It’s the most secure crosschain protocol as it doesn’t add any new trust assumptions. Connext is aimed at developers who are looking to build bridges and other natively crosschain applications (xApps). To date, over $1.5b in transactions have crossed the network.
